G Data: No connection to the server - you can do that
G Data Antivirus protects your PC from unwanted programs. If the program cannot connect to the server, there may be a problem with the Internet connection. In this practical tip, we will show you what you can do in this case.
G Data: No connection to the server - what to do?
- First, make sure that your PC is properly connected to the Internet. To test this, you can open any website in the browser, for example.
- This error can often also be caused by other security software. Uninstall if you have another installed.
- You may also have configured a proxy, which is why G Data cannot establish a connection. Enter "Internet Options" in the search field of the start menu and click on the first result. Then switch to the "Connections" tab and click on "LAN settings". In the next window, uncheck "Use proxy server for LAN" and save with "OK".
- At the same time, you must check under G Data whether you have entered a proxy there. You can find these settings under "Settings"> "Updates"> "Internet Settings".
