Reinstall G-DATA under Windows
To update G-DATA, you must first remove the old version in order to be able to reinstall the antivirus program afterwards. We will show you how to do this here.
Reinstall G-DATA - step 1
We explain how to uninstall programs from Windows in a separate practical tip. The instructions also work for G-DATA.
- Alternatively, you can also uninstall using the new G-DATA installation file by double-clicking on it.
- The wizard will then guide you through the uninstallation process.
- Finally, restart your computer.
Reinstall G-DATA - step 2
Now you can start adding a new G-DATA version to Windows.
- Have the registration number ready for installation that you received by email when you first purchased your G-DATA product. If you have forgotten or misplaced it, you can request it again via the G-DATA website.
- Now run the installation file of the new G-DATA version.
- Select the language in which you want to use the AnitVirus program and click "Next".
- After you have selected the type of installation and accepted the license agreement, the wizard asks whether you want to activate the full version or use the trial version.
- By selecting the "full version" you can either enter a new registration number or your existing access data.
- Now wait until the installation process is completed. Depending on the PC, this may take some time.
- After restarting your computer, G-DATA is ready for use.
