Galaxy S5: private mode - how it works
If you want to hide certain files on your Samsung Galaxy S5, you can do this in private mode. We'll show you how to set it up and use it.
Galaxy S5: Activate private mode
- Open the "Settings" app and select "Private mode" under the "Personalization" category.
- If you tap on "Next", you will be shown which data you can hide in private mode.
- Now select an unlock method for private mode. Either a pattern, a PIN, your fingerprint or a password is suitable for this.
- Once you have set the method, private mode is activated automatically.
Galaxy S5: hide files in private mode
- Now open the content you want to hide. In this example we use the gallery app.
- Select one or more photos here and tap on the button on the top right with the three dots arranged one below the other.
- If you select the "Move to private" option, the image is marked with a small icon.
- If you open the "Private mode" category in the "Settings" app again, you can exit the mode. The files will then become invisible.
- The marked files are only visible again in private mode. If you want to show a file again permanently, this works in the same way.
