Most often, the screen lock is accidentally activated in the settings.
- Pull down the notification bar. Here you can see settings for WLAN, Bluetooth or the flashlight.
- Also sometimes there is the entry "portrait", whose symbol looks like a lock.
- By tapping this option once, the entry changes to "Rotate screen".
- Now the display should turn again as soon as you tip the phone.
The screen on the S8 is not rotating - calibrate the gyro sensor
If the screen is still not rotating, there may be an error in the gyro sensor.
- Open the phone app on the Galaxy S8.
- Type in the code "* # 0 * #" (without quotation marks). Then a menu opens automatically.
- The "Sensor" option is in the middle.
- Under "Gyroscope Sensor" the values should change constantly. You can calibrate the sensor using "Gyro Selftest".
- If this solution step is unsuccessful, there is probably a hardware defect. In this case, you should contact Samsung customer service.
