Gamescom will again bring numerous gaming innovations and technology trends from all over the world to Germany in 2019. When Gamescom in Cologne opens its gates to the gaming community again on August 20th, you cannot miss the big highlights.
Gamescom 2019: together we are games
Gamescom will take place from August 20 to 24, 2018, the gates for visitors will open on August 21. But it gets exciting a day earlier: On August 19, the "Opening Night Live" begins at 8:00 p.m., where many new games are to be announced.
- The motto of Gamescom 2019 is: "Together we are games". It puts the gaming community at the center. Whether cosplayer, modder, eSportler or streamer - the many committed players shape the gaming culture and will be particularly appreciated at the 2019 trade fair.
- It's also about cloud gaming, which has become increasingly important in recent years. The game no longer runs on a console at home, but on a server. The game data is only streamed.
- Another trend at Gamescom 2019 is indie games. Independent Studios games have recently become more and more famous and popular. Minecraft and Angry Birds, for example, are indie games that have become world famous.

Gamescom innovations 2018: The developers have it in their luggage
- Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be released at the beginning of September and manufacturer Capcom will let visitors hunt at 48 game stations.
- Bandai Namco has already given a hint of showing "Man of Medan". The game will also be available a few days after Gamescom.
- The switch version of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is available in Hall 9.
- FIFA 20 is available at several stands: You can play the game at the developer EA booth, but also at the MediaMarkt booth. A new edition of "Need for Speed" could also be available from EA - but this has not yet been confirmed.
- The games "Tropico 6" and "Immortal: Vampire Wars" are available from Kalypso Media.
