In many online shops you can configure your gaming PC yourself. We present a comparison of three well-known shops in this article.
ONE - Customize preconfigured gaming PC
The online shop ONE sells computers and notebooks for all areas. Nevertheless, ONE specializes in gaming PCs and offers good PC systems for every budget.
- In the gaming and high-end PC sections, you will find preconfigured computers that offer an optimal price-performance ratio.
- Depending on the requirements, it is still worth adapting individual components.
- The shop saves particularly often on the mainboards - if you are thinking about upgrading the system later, you should, for example, keep your distance from a B85 mainboard and choose a Z97 board instead.
- The price of an additional hard drive is also reasonable. For example, if you want to speed up the system startup, you can get a Samsung EVO 840 SSD hard drive with 120 gigabytes of storage capacity for an additional charge of 80 euros. If you buy such a hard disk later, you only pay 10 euros less.
Configure gaming PC at Alternate
Alternate offers a PC configurator that accompanies you through the selection of all components. If you select hardware that is not compatible with one another, you will receive a message before completing the order. Alternate will also notify you when you have selected components that the shop does not recommend. The notes and tips are almost exclusively useful - an exception is the attempt to sell you an operating system. If you already have one, you can continue to use it.
- Alternate makes it easier for you to configure a gaming PC, and you will find it from a huge hardware selection in every price range.
- You have the choice whether you want to order the components as individual parts or whether you want the system to be delivered to you already fully assembled. For an assembly you pay 99, - - considering the otherwise very cheap hardware a fair price.
- Compared to One.de, you are more free to choose your components. Buy the PC as an assembled system, pay a little more than a pre-configured PC at One.de. However, as soon as you start to replace expensive components such as a graphics card or processor, the price of One.de rises sharply.
Configure Alienware gaming PC at Dell
If you value your image, you will find the right computer at Dell: With the "Alienware" PC series, Dell is positioning itself as the top dog in the gaming sector. However, you pay huge surcharges for optics and brand, which is why the Alienware systems cannot keep up with the price of ONE or Alternate computers.
- At Dell, you can choose between two desktop models from the Alienware series: the small X51 mini gaming PC is available as an entry-level model and is complemented by the high-end computer Area-51.
- From 800 euros you get the X51 in a configuration with which current games can be reasonably endured. For really strong hardware you pay well over 1000 euros.
- You can replace some components in the configurator, but this quickly increases the price immeasurably. If you want an Alienware computer with the best price-performance ratio, you should not make any changes to the system. The selection is very limited anyway.
- The Dell shop is therefore not suitable for configuring its own gaming PC. If a finished system is also an option for you, you will find a comparison of three current mini-gaming PCs in another article.
Conclusion: One.de for small changes, Alternate for your own configuration
Those who dig deep into their pockets will get a good system from Alienware. If you want to save your wallet, you should take a look at ONE or Alternate:
- If you find a calculator at One.de that meets your requirements without major changes, we advise you to go to this shop. Little things like motherboard, hard drive or drives can be selected at a fair price and thus give your PC an individual touch.
- However, if you have specific ideas about your future system or would like to assemble the computer yourself, Alternate is a good address. Here you can get hardware at affordable prices, have an overwhelming selection and benefit from the tips of the configurator.
