Enable secret menus in Android
In addition to the classic menu, there are some secret menus on Android. However, these can only be reached via hidden codes, but offer all kinds of settings.
Hidden system app with all kinds of secret information
If you enter "* # * # 4636 # * # *" via the number field, a view opens that gives you information about the phone, battery, WLAN and usage in general.
- Under "Telephone information" you can read out your IMEI or telephone number, for example. You can also choose your preferred network type or ping test.
- The "Battery information" shows you, for example, how high the battery temperature is currently and what voltage the battery has. Here you will also find an indication of whether your battery is in good condition.
- The "usage statistics" is a practical display that lists all installed apps and their frequency of use. For example, you can check how much time you spend in the Facebook app.
- The last point "Wi-Fi information" provides you with relevant data about your WLAN connection. For example, if you want to know what download speed you can achieve with your smartphone, you've come to the right place.
Check sensors in hidden Android menu
If something is wrong with your smartphone and you believe that a sensor is responsible for the problem, another secret menu can help you. Enter the code "* # 0 * #" and you will be taken to a test view for sensors, display and cameras. Under the item "Touch" you can test, for example, whether your screen responds correctly to your inputs.
Not all secret codes work on every Android phone
- The two menus were called up on an HTC Sensation and on a Samsung Galaxy S3, whereby the first menu was not supported by the Samsung Galaxy S3, while the second menu was not supported by the HTC Sensation. So please note that some codes do not always work on all Android smartphones, but are dependent on the manufacturer and software version.
