What is geocaching?
Geocaching is the treasure hunt of the Internet age: Using a GPS device, you can search for hiding places that other geocachers have previously set up.
- At the beginning of the scavenger hunt, you will receive coordinates that you can enter in your GPS device or smartphone. Often these lead directly to the treasure. With some goals, however, you still have to solve puzzles to get the coveted cache - there are no limits to your imagination.
- The geocaching community is very active in Germany. Therefore, you will easily find caches near you. Often the destinations are in public places and provided with a small description so that you can find out about the sights of your city while searching.
- If you want to go on a treasure hunt yourself, you will find enough destinations on the Internet. However, geocaching is easiest with the smartphone. Simply download an app for your Android or iOS device and start searching.
