If you deactivate automatic geolocation in Chrome, you will be asked before you can be located in the area based on your IP address and WiFi networks. In this practical tip, we will show you how to do this.
How to turn off geolocation in Chrome
Geolocation cannot be permanently and permanently deactivated. However, you can use the settings to ensure that Google Chrome asks for the location.
- To do this, start Google Chrome and open the menu. You can do this by clicking on the three points arranged one below the other on the top right of the window.
- First select "Settings" in the menu, scroll down to the bottom of the following page and click on "Advanced".
- Scroll down to the "Content Settings" section and click on it.
- As a second point you should see "Location" in the following window. If you click on this point, you will reach the desired setting.
- Drag the slider to the right to disable automatic geolocation without asking. Instead, you will be asked whether you agree to this before you access your computer.
