Dishwasher: save energy when washing dishes
Saving energy has almost become a popular sport. In our energy saving tips, we show how you can save money in the dishwasher.
Saving energy with the dishwasher - 6 tips
When it comes to saving electricity, the dishwasher is also important. Our 6 tips for lower energy consumption:
- The most important and at the same time most energy-saving tip concerns the purchase of a new dishwasher. You should definitely observe the energy label and the energy efficiency classes listed there.
- When asked about the water connection of your new dishwasher, you should prefer the hot water connection of your heating, because the water does not have to be heated each time.
- It is also very sensible to set the dishwasher to the correct water hardness. This increases efficiency and service life. You can also dose the cleaning agents better and, above all, more economically if you know the water hardness in your household.
- Modern dishwashers usually have an economy button or shortcut. You should use these if you only wash lightly soiled dishes.
- If possible, you should only start the dishwasher - like the washing machine and dryer - when it is full. However, do not overfill, as otherwise the dishes will usually not be properly cleaned and "washing up" will waste energy and time.
- To ensure that your dishwasher does not waste any time and energy on pumping water, the remaining sieve should always be cleaned well. Then the water can pass through unhindered.
