If you shop online and enter your payback number, you will receive blocked points. In this article, we clarify what this is all about and when the points are unlocked.
Payback: That's why there are blocked points
You can use your Payback card not only in the supermarket or petrol station, but also when shopping online. Here, however, you will initially only receive blocked points.
- These points are on your Payback account, but they cannot be redeemed. This protects Payback from tricksters.
- The blocked points are only released when the operator of the online shop Payback confirms your purchase. This can take up to six weeks.
- The reason: You are legally entitled to a 14-day right of withdrawal on the Internet. In many online shops, this is even longer. During this time, you can cancel the contract and get your money back without any consequences. You will only get the payback points when the purchase is really completed.
- Therefore, the blocked payback points are practically provisional. As soon as the cancellation period has expired, you can use the points as normal. However, should you exercise your right of withdrawal, the points will be deducted from your account balance.
