Block stolen cell phone by serial number - is that possible?
If your cell phone has been stolen, you may be able to block it using the serial number. We'll tell you when and how to do it.
Block stolen smartphone with serial number IMEI
- Each network operator has a list with all IMEI numbers for all cell phones that are registered via their own network.
- The blocking can only be carried out if you have the IMEI number, the mobile phone is switched on and your SIM card or a SIM card from the same provider is inserted.
- If the cell phone is switched off, it cannot be blocked. If a SIM card from another network operator has been inserted, there is only limited hope. The network operators do not always cooperate with each other.
- If the worst comes to the worst, you should make a note of the IMEI number. To do this, call the number * # 06 # on your mobile phone. The IMEI is then displayed. You can usually find the number on the cell phone bill.
