Raspberry health power plant: the super fruit is so healthy
Raspberries grow in many gardens and are very popular due to their intense taste. We show you that raspberries are not only good taste but also healthy.
Raspberries are so healthy
Raspberries have some health benefits, which is why you can consume them in large quantities.
- Raspberries contain nutrients that are essential for our body. These are vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system and a large amount of fiber, through which the feeling of satiety sets in. In addition, raspberries ingest folic acid, potassium and minerals.
- Because raspberries contain just 33 calories per 100 g, they are very beneficial if you want to lose weight. In addition, the contained pectin promotes digestion and potassium drains the body. So you can, for example, safely replace sweets with raspberries.
- B and C vitamins and flavonoids are antioxidants and abundant in raspberries. They ensure that so-called "oxidative stress", which is responsible, for example, for diabetes and heart diseases, cannot arise.
- The secondary plant substance resveratrol present in raspberries counteracts inflammation. Among other things, the symptoms of arthritis can be combated.
- Raspberry berry extracts can prevent cancer cells from developing and destroy existing prostate, mouth and breast cells. Up to 90% of the cells can be killed in this way. The previously mentioned antioxidants also fight cancer cells in the ovaries. However, there is no medical evidence that a certain diet affects the development of cancer cells.
Processing of healthy raspberries
You can process them further so that you can enjoy raspberries even after the harvest or simply want some variety.
- To enjoy raspberries all year round, you should freeze the berries. Brush them only slightly after picking, as they lose their taste when washed. Then you can freeze them on a tray so that they don't stick to each other and transfer them to a can after a few days. This is useful if you want to use the raspberries as a decoration. Otherwise you can freeze them directly in a can.
- Another use for raspberries is jam. With a mixture ratio of raspberries and gelling sugar of 3: 1 you can boil the whole thing down, possibly refine it with a little lemon juice, fill into glasses and seal airtight.
- Raspberries are also perfect for milkshakes. Simply add raspberries with milk to a blender. You can also add vanilla ice cream and other fruits before everything is mixed in the blender. Then pour the milkshake into glasses.
