Insert GIF in PDF - how it works
If you want to insert a GIF file into a PDF document, you do not have to use Adobe Acrobat Pro for a fee, but can also use free tools. You can only insert animated GIFs into your PDF via detours - you will also find instructions on how to do this.
Preparation: Convert animated GIF to SWF file
Unfortunately, it is not possible to display animated GIF files in a PDF document. However, you can still insert an animation via a small detour: You must first convert the GIF file into a supported format such as SWF. This is possible, for example, with the freeware "Quick Media Converter HD". After installation, run the program and follow these steps:
- Click the "Add files to convert" button to the left of the task list and select the GIF file.
- Now you have to click on the "Flv web format" button above the task list and then select "SWF format".
- Click the "Click here to select the target directory" button below the task list and select the folder in which the converted file is to be saved.
- Finally, click on the "Start conversion" button on the right and wait for the process to be completed.
