Gimp: Measure the distance between two points
Gimp makes it easy to measure the distance between two points in an image. We explain how this works in this practical tip.
Distance between two points: How to measure it in gimp
With the "measuring tape", Gimp has its own tool for measuring the distance between two points. You will find the measuring tape in the toolbar, the corresponding symbol shows a measuring circle (see screenshot). You can also press the key combination [Shift] + [M] to activate the measuring tape.
- Once you have selected the measuring tape, mark the first point with the left mouse button pressed. Then move the mouse pointer to the second point and then release the mouse button. You can now read the distance between the two points below the image area.
- On the left, you can also change the unit of measure and display the distance in pixels, millimeters or centimeters.
