GIMP: insert picture - how it works
GIMP is a free alternative to the professional Photoshop tool. This practical tip shows you how to insert a picture in GIMP.
Insert picture at GIMP - so it'll work
You can insert an image into the image editing program GIMP in different ways:
- Either open it via "File"> "Open" by selecting it from the directory, or paste the images from the clipboard into GIMP.
- To do this, press the key combination [CTRL] + [V] to insert the image.
- If this does not work, you can also insert the image in GIMP via "Edit"> "Paste as"> "New image".
- To create a new image from the clipboard, use the command "File"> "Create"> "From clipboard".
This practical tip is based on Gimp 2.8.16 under Windows 7. We will show you how to combine images in GIMP in the next practical tip.
