Gimp: crop picture - how it works
You can crop your Gimp pictures in a few simple steps. We'll show you how it works.
Crop your own pictures in GIMP
You don't even need to use a special tool to crop a gimp image:
- It is sufficient if you mark the desired area. Use the rectangle selection tool for this (see screenshot).
- Right-click on the marked area. Now select "Crop to selection" in the "Image" menu.
- Everything that was not within your selection is now cut off by Gimp.
- Alternatively, you can also activate the "Gimp scissors" with the key combination [Shift] + [C]. Use this to mark the desired section of the image to cut out the photo.
- To save the image you just have to click on "File" -> "Export to". Simply change the extension to the desired file format, such as ".webp" or ".webp". Save your photo with "Export".
