Images processed with Gimp can also be used in Adobe Photoshop: The freeware Gimp also offers the Photoshop file format PSD for exporting images. Then you can continue working with all filters and settings in Photoshop.
Save images in Gimp as a Photoshop file
- When you have opened the picture you want in Gimp, select "File"> "Export ..." in the top left corner.
- In the new window you will see all storage options. Click on "File Type: By Extension" at the bottom left.
- Scroll to "Photoshop Image" and click on this line. Now you can see that the file name is provided with ".psd" in the top line.
- Alternatively, you can also change the file name manually and add the ".psd" extension yourself.
