Minimize noise in Gimp
- To minimize the image noise in Gimp, open the corresponding image. Then click on the "Colors" tab.
- Select the "Disassemble" item under "Components". Under "Color Mode" click on "HSL" and confirm with "OK".
- In the layer overview, deactivate the hue and saturation so that you only work with the brightness channel.
- Under "Filters" and "Blur" select "Selective Gaussian Blur" and confirm with "OK".
- Now under "Filters" and "Improve" click "Unsharp Mask". If necessary, adjust the radius, quantity and threshold according to your ideas.
- Now select the focus filter under "Filters" and "Improve". If necessary, adjust the sharpness for better results.
- Now click on "Compose" under "Colors" and "Components". Set the color mode to "HSL". By clicking on "OK" your image is generated with minimized image noise.
