If you want to decorate your pictures with text, you can use Gimp to create a curved font. In this article we will tell you how to do this.
Bending font in Gimp - a guide
You create curved fonts in Gimp using paths. This specifies the alignment of your texts and then adjusts the words to the curved line.
- Start Gimp and open the picture you want.
- Then select the text tool with the icon "A" from the toolbar and click on the image area.
- Enter your desired text in the field. You can enlarge and adjust the lettering using the buttons.
- Now select the path tool (see photo) and click on the beginning and end of your text.
- A line is created that you can drag and adjust with the mouse. With this you determine how strongly your writing should bend.
- Finally, right-click on the text field and select the option "Text along the path".
- Gimp copies your text and lines it up along the curved line. You can now delete the old text field.
