How to install plugins for Gimp
- If you have downloaded a Gimp plugin as a ZIP archive, you have to unzip the containing folder into the correct file path.
- To find out which folder you need to copy the files to, start Gimp and click on "Edit" in the menu bar.
- Select "Settings" and then in the menu on the left side the plus symbol next to the item "Folder".
- Click on "Plugins". The folder in which the Gimp plugins must be saved is now displayed in the window.
- Once all files and folders have been copied to the correct locations, click on "Script-Fu" under "Filters" in Gimp and select "Refresh scripts".
- If you have downloaded a Gimp plugin as an EXE file, the correct directory is usually automatically recognized during the installation process.
