Gimp: Create frames - how it works
In Gimp you can add a frame to your snapshots. In this guide, we explain how to create a frame.
Via the decoration settings: create frames in Gimp
Open Gimp and the photo you want to frame.
- Click on "Filter" in the menu bar and then on "Decoration".
- Select "Add Border" from the menu that opens. A window opens in which you can define the properties of the border.
- Specify the border size on the x and y axis, and you can also specify the border color.
- Save the settings with "OK".
Create frames in Gimp using the fill function
You can also create a frame in Gimp using the fill function.
- First create an additional layer for the frame. To do this, click on "Layer" and "New Layer" in the menu bar.
- Select the "Rectangular Selection" or the "Elliptical Selection" in the toolbox.
- Mark the area to be framed later.
- Then click on "Selection" and "Invert" in the menu bar.
- Then fill the marked area with the desired color or pattern.
