Gimp: insert watermark - so it'll work
Gimp is a powerful image editing program that you can use to watermark your images. In this practical tip, we will show you exactly how this works.
Insert watermark in Gimp
- Select the "Layer" and "New Layer" entries in the Gimp menu bar. Give the layer a name and a suitable resolution. Make sure that the layer fill type is set to "Transparent" so that the watermark is visible on your picture.
- With the text tool you can now place a text field on the layer. You can also insert a logo as an image.
- Adjust the tool settings such as text type, text color or size. You can use the Move tool to place the watermark in the appropriate position.
- You can change the opacity of the text field in the "Layers"> "Brushes" window. This makes the field transparent.
- Click on "File" in the menu bar and select the "Export" menu item. There you can save your project as an image file and insert it into later images.
Alternatively, you can also create 3D effects with Gimp and stand out from the crowd.
