Gimp: White teeth in five steps - that's how you whiten
- Mark the tooth you want to whiten with the lasso tool in Gimp. You can also remove selected areas from the tooth selection by holding down the Ctrl key.
- To avoid hard edges and corners when selecting, click on "Selection" in the Gimp menu bar and then on "Hide". Leave the default value of five pixels and confirm with "OK".
- Now bleach the selection as follows: Click on "Colors" in the menu bar and there on "Hue Saturation".
- Depending on the photo, other values may be suitable. In the image shown above (on the left tooth) the values shade: 18, brightness: 100, saturation: -71 were used. Low saturation and high brightness are usually useful to whiten teeth. You can move the sliders and see the change in the photo directly.
- If you have decided on a setting, confirm with "OK".
