How to deactivate automatic appointment reminders
Especially when you have a lot of appointments in your Google Calendar, the constant reminders can not only be helpful but also annoying. With Gmail you can customize these notifications or turn them off entirely.
- Open your Google Calendar. In Gmail you will find this on the right as a small calendar symbol.
- Clicking on it opens the calendar as a column. At the top you will find a small rectangle with an arrow, "Open in new Tab".
- Your Google Calendar opens in a new window.
- After you have opened Google Calendar in a new window, you will find a gear on the right in the picture. Click on the gear, you can now open the settings.
- On the left side, under the general settings are the settings for your calendar.
- If you click on one of your calendars, in our example "Appointments", the settings for this calendar open.
- Under "General Notifications" you can now customize the notifications or switch them off.
- For example, you can issue reminders for cancellations or have a daily schedule sent to you. As soon as you change a tick, Google automatically saves and you can close the window.
