With Gmail you now have the option to revoke sent emails. In this practical tip we will show you how you can use this function.
Revoke emails with the new Gmail
Often you send e-mails and shortly after you click on Send you notice that you have forgotten the attachment. Or there is a gross spelling mistake directly in the subject. But then it's already too late and the post is on its way. With Gmail you now have the option of delaying the starting shot by up to 30 seconds.
- First you have to activate the new Gmail. To do this, click on the gear on the top right to open the settings.
- Start the free update with "Test the new Gmail".
- After a few seconds you can choose from 3 layouts and the new Gmail is activated. If you prefer the old design, you can switch back to "Classic Gmail" in the same way. However, the new functions are not possible there.
- With the new and the old design, you can also customize the look.
Call back an email with just a few clicks
With classic Gmail, a small yellow pop-up "Your message has been sent" opens after sending with the button "Show message."
- In the new look, a black window now opens at the bottom right with "The message has been sent" and two buttons for "Undo" and "Show message". This function is preset with a five-second recall period.
- If you want to adjust the deadline, first click on the gear again in the top right.
- In the settings you can now adjust the time period from five seconds to up to 30 seconds under "Call back e-mail".
- Don't forget: Scroll all the way down and click "Save changes".
