Gmail: Create a label for a sender - Here's how
In Gmail, labels for senders can help you sort your messages better - such as private messages, work emails, or newsletters. We show you how to create your own label.
Gmail: step by step to your own label
- Open the overview of your Gmail inbox. After clicking on "More" at the end of the list you will find the item "Create new label".
- There you can enter the title (eg "Work") and define the parent folder of your label. So you can build a clear folder system in Gmail.
- To classify your emails, open the email of a newsletter sender. Use the "More" button above the message to select the "Filter similar messages" item.
- Now set the filters for your label. This can be, for example, a keyword, a sender or a specific subject. Below you will find the blue text link "Create filter with these search criteria".
- In the new window, you can now select your previously created label and make further settings - for example, you can have newsletters automatically marked as read.
