GMX: Mails do not arrive - that may be the reason
As a rule, the GMX offer works reliably. Nevertheless, it can happen from time to time that emails do not arrive. We show you what you can do in this practical tip.
GMX: Mails do not arrive - the best tips
- In order for e-mails to arrive in your GMX account, you must have an active internet connection. The best way to test this is to go to another website.
- GMX's servers may be overloaded and your e-mails may not be received as a result. Normally, the emails should only reach their destination with a delay. Open the GMX website in your browser. If this is not available, there is most likely a problem with the provider.
- Again and again it happens that emails do not end up in the inbox as desired, but in the "suspected spam" folder. Therefore, look in the spam folder of your GMX account and check whether the email has arrived there. If you use a separate mail program like Outlook, this can have an additional spam filter.
- As a rule, the sender receives a return email if his message could not be delivered successfully. This also lists the reason for the error. If possible, ask the sender if they have received such a message.
- Make sure that the email addresses or domains of the senders are not in the blacklist of your GMX account. It can also help whitelist senders. You can find both lists in your GMX account under "Settings"> "To Settings" and then "Blacklist" or "Whitelist".
Check the settings of your email software
If you use e-mail software such as Thunderbird or Outlook to check your e-mails, incorrect configuration can ensure that no e-mails arrive at you.
- Check whether the GMX webmailer is working. To do this, visit the page //www.gmx.net and log in with your user name and password. If you now have access to the emails that you supposedly did not arrive, your email program is most likely not set up correctly.
