Remove Go Save - Here's how
Go Save is actually not a virus, but an add-on that displays advertisements in the browser and changes search settings. We show you how to remove it in this practical tip.
Remove adware: Uninstall Go Save
The first thing to do is uninstall the Go Save program and other suspicious programs:
- Start the Control Panel and click on "Programs and Features" in the "Programs" category.
- Look for "Go Save" in the list, right click it and uninstall it.
- Uninstall other suspicious programs as well. These include toolbars and programs such as "WebCake" or "Search Project".
Remove Go Save from Firefox
Next you need to remove Go Save from your browser:
- Open the Firefox menu with the button at the top right and click on "Add-ons".
- Click on "Extensions" and remove the entries with "Go Save" or "Babylon" in the title, as well as "Conduit Search". Also remove other entries that appear suspicious to you.
- In the Firefox menu, click on the question mark at the bottom and select "Troubleshooting information".
- In the new tab, click "Reset Firefox" and then click "Reset Firefox" again.
Remove Go Save from Chrome
- Open the Chrome menu at the top right and click "Extensions" under "Tools".
- Delete go-save entries as well as "Babylon" and "Conduit Search". Delete other suspicious extensions as well. To do this, click on the small waste bin in the entries.
- Now click on "Settings" in the Chrome menu and scroll to "Search", where you click on "Manage search engines ...". Remove all harmful search engines with the small x right in the entries. Just keep your preferred search engines.
- Now scroll all the way down in the settings and click "Show advanced settings". Scroll all the way down again and select "Reset settings". Confirm with "Reset".
Remove Go Save from Internet Explorer
- Open Internet Explorer and click on the gear in the top right. Select "Manage Add-ons".
- Right-click on the suspicious entries and select "Disable".
- Click the gear again, select "Internet Options" and click the "Advanced" tab.
- Now click on "Reset ..." to reset Internet Explorer. Activate "Delete personal settings" and confirm with "Reset".
