The "Google has been stopped" error occasionally occurs on various Android devices. There are many reasons why the Google app is stopped. As a rule, however, it is only a bug that can be easily fixed. You can find out more in this practical tip.

If this error occurs on your device, it is best to do the following:
- First go to Settings and the "Apps" section. Search for "Google" here and tap on "Empty cache" under "Storage".
- If the problem persists, tap on "My apps and games" in the Google Play Store and check whether an update for the Google app is available for download.
- If the problem was caused by a new version, you can restore the system standard of the app. The Google app is usually a system app. Search for the app in Settings as in point 1. Then click on "Uninstall updates" in the "App info" menu.
- If the app continues to cause errors, it is easiest to deactivate them (also in the settings) or to reset the smartphone to the factory settings.
