Google Assistant: Create and use the shopping list - how it works
Your Google Assistant has a custom grocery list from the factory. In this practical tip, we will show you how you can create and use this list.
Google Assistant - create shopping list
Lists are created automatically as soon as you have a corresponding voice command such as "Ok Google, create a shopping list for me." pronounce. Of course, this requires an activated Google Assistant. Optionally, you can of course also create a shopping list manually. To do this, proceed as follows:
- First, open the Google Assistant on your smartphone. To do this, just hold down the home button until the Google window is displayed.
- Next, navigate to the settings of your assistant, scroll down to the "Services" tab and tap on the "Shopping list" entry. The exact view under Android 7.0 can be seen in the screenshot.
- Once in the shopping list view, click on "New List" and then only have to name it and confirm with "Done".
- To rename your shopping list, select the "Manage" button and tap on the three dots next to the displayed list. Here you will find the "Rename" option.
- If you are shopping and want to check off an item from your shopping list, you only need to select the boxes behind the items in the menu.
Voice commands for the shopping list on the Google Assistant
For example, if you want to add an item to your shopping list, all you need to do is speak to your Google Assistant. There are various voice commands that can be varied in their wording.
- "OK Google, put milk and cookies on my shopping list."
- "Ok Google, what's on my shopping list?"
- "Ok Google, show me my shopping list."
