Google Assistant on iOS - how it works
Google Assistant can be used not only on Android, but also on iOS. In this article, we show how to set up and use Google's voice assistant in iOS.
Google Assistant: Download and set up the app
The "Google Assistant" app forms the basis for the voice assistant under iOS.
- Download Google Assistant from the App Store.
- Open the app and accept the requested permissions.
- Now you have the typical Google Assistant screen in front of you. Select the icon in the lower right corner. Now you can set the phrase that should activate the Google Assistant.
Use voice commands with the assistant
Once the Google Assistant is set up, there are several ways to interact with it.
- In the app, you can speak to the voice assistant without tapping on the microphone without a "code word".
- Another option is to activate the Google Assistant using a widget in the widget overview. You can reach this by swiping to the right from the start screen.
- The voice assistant can also be activated by voice. To do this, you first need to activate Siri and then utter the previously defined phrase to activate the Google Assistant. For example: "Hey Siri, Hey Google".
