Secure Google Chrome with a password - how it works
With a secure password, you can prevent unauthorized persons from accessing Google Chrome. This guide explains how to set up the password and what to look out for.
Google Chrome: Protect your browser with a password
- First install the free Secure Profile add-on. Simply click on the "Add" button at the top right.
- Then a new tab opens automatically. Set the desired password here.
- So that nobody outwits the tool, it must also run in incognito mode. To do this, enter "chrome: // extensions /" in a new tab.
- Scroll down a little and activate the option "Allow in incognito mode".
- If you start Chrome, your password will be requested every time. If the password is not correct, Chrome will be closed again.
