Websites are often overloaded with lots of sounds or videos. This practical tip shows you how to mute individual tabs on Google Chrome and thus remain undisturbed while surfing.
Mute tabs in Google Chrome
The latest version of the browser has already integrated the function to mute loud tabs in Google Chrome. Therefore, proceed as follows:
- When you open a tab with sound, a mute icon appears - as can be seen in the screenshot.
- Click to turn off the sound for this tab.
- The sound is available again with a click of the mouse.
- Alternative: Right-click on a tab and select the "Mute tab" option.
