Google Chrome: undo update - how it works
Google Chrome updates itself automatically as soon as a new update is available. In this practical tip, we will tell you how you can undo this and install an old version of Chrome.
Undo Chrome update
With new Chrome updates, Google mostly closes dangerous security gaps and provides new features. This is why you cannot fundamentally reset Google Chrome to an older version. With a little trick it works anyway.
- First switch to the Control Panel and click on "Programs and Features". Search for Google Chrome there and remove the browser using the "Uninstall" button.
- Since Google doesn't offer outdated versions of Chrome, you have to check for previous updates yourself on the Internet. You can find all previous versions of Chrome at Oldversion.com, for example.
- Download the setup of the desired browser version and reinstall Google Chrome on your PC.
- To ensure that your browser remains on the old version, you must finally deactivate the automatic updates. As a rule, however, we advise you to always use the current version of the browser.
