For better navigation in the text document, you can create a table of contents at "Google Docs". In this article, we explain how to do this.
Paste the table of contents into "Google Docs"
- Start "Google Docs" and open a text document from your clipboard.
- The table of contents obtains the respective entries from the set headings. Therefore, you should first add headings using the "Format" menu item and the "Paragraph styles" option.
- Now place your cursor where you want to create the table of contents. Then select the "Table of contents" entry in the menu bar via the "Insert" tab to integrate it into the text document.
- You can also adjust the position afterwards by simply marking and moving the table of contents.
- You can also add new headings. To display the changes in the table of contents, click on the "Refresh button" on the right in the table of contents.
Tip: You can insert dropdown menus into tables just as easily.
