In this practical tip, we explain what the anonymous animals mean on Google Drive.
Google Drive: what do the anonymous animals mean?
- The anonymous animals in documents in Google Drive stand for current viewers of the document. Each individual animal corresponds to an individual Google user.
- In order to distinguish users, but still keep their identity anonymous, the anonymous animals are divided into individual species. These include giraffes, dinosaurs and dolphins.
- The anonymous animals are usually displayed when the document can be viewed by anyone with the link. If, for example, a Google Doc is only released for selected users by entering email addresses, they will be displayed with their Google names.
