Use Google Drive offline - so it'll work
Google Drive can also be used offline, which can be helpful when traveling, for example. However, you must first activate offline access. You can read here how it works.
Google Drive: Enable offline access
Google Drive can only be used offline in conjunction with Google Chrome. You can download the browser here. If you have installed Google Chrome, activate offline access as follows:
- Open the //drive.google.com page in Google Chrome. If necessary, log in with your Google username and password.
- In the left menu bar click first on "More" and then on "Offline".
- Click on the blue button "Download app" in the left part of the screen. Read the note "Web app is installed", skip to step 5.
- A small window opens with the note that Google Drive should be added to Chrome. Confirm this by clicking the "Add" button.
- Click on the "Activate offline mode" button in the right part of the screen.
- After the synchronization of your documents, you can use Google Drive via the address //drive.google.com even without an internet connection.
Note: Google Drive stores a maximum of 4000 documents or 5 GB in offline mode. This practical tip explains how you can restore files deleted in Google Drive.
