If you no longer want to save all photos on your smartphone on Google, you can deactivate the automatic backup. We show you step by step how to do this.
Disable automatic backup in Google Photos
If you deactivate the automatic backup in Google Photos, newly recorded or saved images will no longer be automatically uploaded to the server. In addition, photos from other devices are no longer synchronized.
- First, open Google Photos for Android or Google Photos for iOS.
- Tap the menu button in the top left and select the "Settings" there.
- You can now deactivate the function of the same name under "Save and synchronize".
- Note: On Android, this setting also affects other apps such as Google Drive. Other applications are not affected under iOS.
