Google Home: Connect and control Harmony - how it works
If you want to connect your Google Home to your Harmony Hub, you need to get creative. The connection between Google Home and Harmony Hub is only supported in Australia, Canada, Great Britain and the USA. We'll show you how it works with the IFTTT service.
Google Home: Connect and control Harmony - how it works
With IFTTT you can connect different services such as Google Home and Harmony:
- First open the IFTTT website to create an account.
- Then you need to connect Google Home to IFTTT. To do this, search for "Google Assistant" on the IFTTT website and then click "Connect". After you have logged in with your Google account, both services are connected.
- Now you also need to connect your Harmony Hub to IFTTT. After you log in with your Logitech account, these services are also connected to each other.
- Finally, you can establish the actual connection between Google Home and Harmony: To do this, so-called applets are used, which you can activate in IFTTT. For example, if you want to turn on your TV, you can use this applet.
- IFTTT automatically takes over the activities from your Logitech account, but you have to create a separate applet for each activity. You can name each applet and enter three commands that Google Home should respond to, for example "OK Google, turn on the TV". For each applet, you must then select one of the activities from your Logitech account from the dropdown list.
- After you have created an applet for each of your activities, the connection is complete. You can now control your Harmony Hub by voice command.
On the next page we will show you how to control the TV with Google Home.
