Google Home Routines: How to Create Processes
Google Home offers the user a wide range of applications. To personalize the intelligent loudspeaker and adapt it to your own everyday life, you can create routines, for example. We'll explain exactly how this works here.
Building Google Home Routines: Getting Started
In order to use Google Home processes, the first requirements must be met. To do this, carry out the following steps:
- Check whether Google Home and your smartphone or tablet are registered in the same WiFi.
- Next, open the Google Home app and go to Account at the bottom right .
- Check whether the Google account shown is connected to Google Home.
- Select Home at the bottom left of the screen and then tap the device for which you want to set up personal results. Then go to Settings .
- Use the slider to enable (or disable) personal results.
Ready-made processes for Google Home routines
You have two options for using Google Home processes. The first option is to use Google-made processes:
- Go to Account in the bottom right corner of the Google Home app, then to Settings, then to > Assistant and finally to > Processes.
- Here you have the option of adopting various pre-defined processes such as "Good morning" or "Bedtime".
- If you want, you can also personalize the settings of the individual processes here. To do this, tap on the cogwheel symbol next to the process you want to change.
Create custom processes
The second option is to create custom workflows for Google Home. Here the procedure is a bit more complicated, because you have to set "If ... then" rules.
- First go back to Settings, then to > Assistant, and then to > Processes . Then click on the > small blue circle with the plus symbol .
- Now set an if command: tap Add commands and then tap the small > plus symbol .
- Create an if command: Now enter the phrase you want to start the process with. Then go to Ok . Now tap on the "Back" arrow .
- Now you can define a target command under "Assistant Soll ...". To do this, tap Add action. Enter the action you want Assistant to take (you can type any known Google Assistant commands or choose popular actions).
- Finally, tap on Add .
