Google Calendar: create a reminder - how it works
This practical tip shows you how to create a reminder in the Google calendar.
Google Calendar: Set reminders and notifications on the computer
So that you don't miss an appointment, you should add a reminder about important appointments:
- To do this, open your Google calendar and click on "Enter".
- Enter all the dates: So set the date and determine which calendar should be used and whether the appointment is repeated.
- Under "Notification" you can now set the desired time of the notification.
- There you have different options: Either you will be reminded by email or a browser pop-up. The time display shows you how many minutes before the appointment you are reminded.
Google Calendar app: Get an appointment notification
You can also quickly add a notification to your appointment on your smartphone.
- Open the "Google Calendar" app and create a new appointment or edit an existing entry.
- Next to the bell symbol, "30 minutes before" is the default. You can change this time or add another notification for the appointment.
- Save the change with the "Save" button above.
Set a simple reminder in the smartphone app
Apart from the notifications for a calendar entry, you can also easily create a reminder regardless of an appointment.
- Open the Google Calendar app and select the "+" symbol in the lower right corner.
- You can choose between "Destination", "Reminder" and "Appointment".
- Tap "Reminder" and paste the information.
- In addition to changing the date and time, you can also set a repeat. For example, you can be reminded of the same task every day.
