Google Calendar: Remove Google+ + birthdays - Here's how
The Google Calendar usually shows all birthdays of your Google+ friends. You can also remove the entries. We show you how to do this.
Remove Google+ birthdays from the calendar app
To remove the birthdays from the view in Google Calendar in the calendar app on your smartphone or iPhone, proceed as follows:
- Open the Google Calendar app and tap the small menu icon in the top left.
- Scroll down and remove the checkmark under "More" in front of "Birthdays".
- The birthdays of your Google+ account will no longer appear in the Google Calendar.
Remove Google+ birthdays from the web version calendar
In the web version of the Google Calendar, too, the birthdays from the circles are usually displayed in Google Plus by default. How to remove the birthdays:
- Log in to Google with your Google account and select the Google calendar from the app menu in the top right.
- On the left side below the miniature calendar, you can enter the birthdays again using the checkbox.
- If this does not work, call up the settings via the gear symbol in the top right.
- Select the "Calendar" tab and click on the "Birthdays" entry.
- In the overview, remove the item from the "Show birthdays from"> "Google+ circles and contacts" checkbox.
- Alternatively, birthdays that only come from your contacts can be activated.
