Automatically sync Google Calendar events with Outlook
The Google Calendar is ideal for group scheduling. So it is good to automatically synchronize the appointments with Outlook in order to compare them with the contents of the calendar.
Automatically synchronize Google Calendar with Outlook
- It is best to use a tool that automatically synchronizes the data; for example the free program "Google Calendar Sync".
- It requires Windows XP or Vista with Outlook 2003 or 2007 installed. If you are already using another synchronization tool, you should uninstall it first.
- After the setup of "Google Calendar Sync" you will immediately get to the configuration dialog. Enter the access data of your Google account there.
- Then decide in the "Sync options" area how the data should be compared. For a full synchronization, select the "2-way" option. This keeps the data in the same state in both calendars.
- However, if you select "1-way: Google Calendar to Microsoft Outlook calendar", the tool ensures that all changes in the calendar from Google are also reflected locally in Outlook. However, new entries in Outlook are not transferred to Google.
- Likewise, "1-way: Microsoft Outlook calendar to Google Calendar" ensures that all entries in Outlook are automatically transferred to the Google calendar, but no changes are made to Outlook.
- Finally, specify in minutes at what intervals the data should be synchronized.
- After clicking on "Save", the first adjustment takes place. In any case, synchronization only takes into account the primary calendar.
- For later access, there is an icon in the system tray, via the context menu of which you can start the synchronization manually, end the tool or adjust the configuration.
