If you want to use your Google contacts on your iPhone, you have to synchronize them with your iOS device. To do this, register your Google account on the iPhone. In the following instructions we show how to do it.
iOS 9: Set up a Google account on the iPhone
You can quickly copy your Google contacts to your iPhone by simply synchronizing your Google account with your iPhone. In the account settings you can then decide whether your e-mails or calendar entries will be synchronized in addition to the contacts.
- Open the "Settings" app and select the category "Mail, Contacts, Calendar".
- Tap here on the "Add account" button and select "Google" as the provider.
- Log in to your Google account and confirm access with the "Allow" button.
- Now you have the choice of which data to synchronize. Among other things, the contacts, the calendar and your emails are available.
- Open the "Settings" app on the iPhone again and navigate to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" area.
- Tap "Add Account" again, but this time select the "Other" category.
- The contacts can now be synchronized under "Add CardDAV account".
- Now enter your Google data. In the "Server" field, type "google.com". You must enter your Google email address as the user name and then enter your password.
- You can write the name for your account under "Description". Then press "Next".
