If you want to get a Gmail address or use the Play Store with your Android smartphone, you must first create a Google account. We show you the exact procedure in these instructions.
Create a Google Account: You should know that
Google now offers numerous different services. These include YouTube, the Chrome browser, Google Photos, Google Calendar, Google Play and Google Pay. You can access all services with just one Google account.
- The Google account is basically free. The various Google services are also free. For example, you can purchase various apps in the Play Store for a fee.
- If you only need the account to use free offers in the Play Store, for example, you do not necessarily have to provide your real name. However, you should keep in mind that the chosen name applies to all services.
- So if you also want to use Gmail, you should at least use abbreviations or the like to be found and recognized by friends.
Instructions: Create a Google account in the browser
- Open the Google website and click on the "Register" button at the top right.
- Click on the "Create Account" button below and select the "For myself" option.
- Enter all required data here. Note that your chosen name also serves as the display name.
- You can also choose between using your current email address or creating a Gmail address.
- In the next step, further personal data will be requested. Entering a phone number and entering an existing email address are not mandatory. If you lose your password, this data can be very helpful.
- Finally, agree to the privacy policy and click on the "Create account" button.
- Your Google account will then be created. If you have entered an alternative email address, it may still have to be confirmed.
- You can now use all Google services without restrictions.
