Google Local Guides: plan and find meetings
The Google Local Guides are planning meetings where you can get to know very special places in the city. We show you how to organize a meeting or find exciting meetings as an interested party.
Find a meeting of Google Local Guides
The Google Local Guides community is just starting to develop, but there are already many events. How to find events near you or at your holiday destination:
- Open the Google Events page and scroll down a bit.
- First you see a large world map with pins for places where an event takes place. If you click on this map, you can zoom in further with the mouse wheel and find your city and your holiday destination.
- There are currently local guides in the Ruhr area, in the Harz, in Frankfurt and in Berlin and Munich. However, there are only a few events at the moment, since they obviously have to be prepared and are very labor intensive.
- You can find all events if you don't scroll down to the map, but a little further down. All upcoming events are listed in a calendar (see picture).
Local guides: plan your own meeting
Google has drawn up a checklist with all the information for precise planning:
- The first thing you need to do is create a plan with the location, name and budget of the participants. For example, a photo tour of a beautiful district or a pub tour.
- Then set up an event page and invite other local guides from your city. Google can help you get more people aware of the event, such as displaying advertisements. You can find information at the bottom of this page.
- On the day of the event, print out the name stickers and think of a game to get to know, such as Google Bingo.
- After the event, you can upload photos and videos to the event page and give Google feedback via " ".
On the next page we explain in detail what the levels and points of Local Guides are all about.
