Google Maps app: rename offline maps
You can also rename saved maps from the Google Maps app offline. This will make it easier for you to find the maps later.
Rename offline maps to Google Maps
- Open the desired map section in the Google Maps app and tap on the user icon in the top right corner of the search bar.
- Scroll all the way down and under Offline Maps, tap "Get and manage all" if you've already saved maps offline. If this is your first card, tap "Save".
- If you have already saved several maps, then tap on "Save new offline map".
- You can now change the map section again in the Maps view. Then tap "Save."
- You can now name your offline map in the pop-up window. You can find all saved maps via the user icon under "Offline Maps". Keep in mind that the cards are only saved for 30 days.
