Google Maps stays black - what to do?

Use the tips below to try to fix this problem on your Android smartphone:
- Open the settings on your smartphone.
- Switch to the installed apps here.
- Search for "Maps" and tap on it.
- Here you will find some buttons. First, tap "Stop" to stop the app.
- Then you have to select the button "Delete data" and then "Uninstall updates". This will reset the app to factory settings.
- You then have to update Maps for Android to the latest version via the PlayStore.
iPhone: Google Maps remains black - reinstall the app
