Google Maps for Android: Send map

If you want to share your map from Google Maps with your friends, you can send it on Android. Our instructions explain how to do this.

Google Maps: Send map and route using the Android app

Note: The option is only available from app version 9.3 on Android and version 4.2 on iOS.

1. Open the Google Maps app and search for the desired location.
2. If you tap the location below, you will find the "Share" button in the middle.
3. Alternatively, you can also share an entire route. To do this, create the route to the desired location and tap on the three dots at the top right.
4. If you select the "Share route" option, you can share the route navigation using various apps such as Facebook, Google Plus, Gmail or via SMS.
5. In the message you will not only find the start and end of the route, but also "step-by-step" instructions for the journey.
